To replicate the beautiful, opalescent shimmer of these animals, these prints are hand finished with silver paint. PLEASE NOTE: All prints are made to order. Glaucus atlanticus, the Blue Dragon, is a mesmerising sea slug which swallows air bubbles which allow it to float around in the water column. These predatory nudibranchs feed on blue bottles and integrate the stinging cells from their prey into their 'wings', and may deliver a painful sting if handled. Their other-worldly colouration serves as camouflage from both above and below. These little dragons are commonly seen washed up on beaches on the Australian East Coast, especially following storms or blue bottle aggregations.
